Designing an AI-driven learning system for security engineers
we45 is a cybersecurity company focused on training and upskilling AppSec engineers through structured learning programs. The existing platform had strong content but suffered from low engagement, fragmented experiences, and limited feedback loops for learners.
I led the redesign of we45.com website and its cybersecurity learning platform ( Appsec Engineer) , working directly with the CEO, product managers, and engineers to ship interactive, AI-driven learning experiences.
Problem
The platform had 3 core issues:
- Low engagement: Users consumed content but had no strong feedback loop
- Static learning model: Courses were linear and not adaptive
- No skill validation: Engineers couldn’t test real understanding in a meaningful way

- Increase learning engagement and completion rates

Research & User Understanding
I started by understanding the core requirements from the CEO and product team. The focus was on creating a simple, intuitive way for users to generate custom quizzes based on specific security topics and vulnerabilities.
Conclusion
The design of the AI-powered quiz generator and the redesign of the AppSecEngineer platform were both challenging and rewarding. By focusing on user needs, technical requirements, and visual consistency, I was able to deliver a solution that enhanced both functionality and aesthetics. Working closely with a second designer, developers, and stakeholders, I successfully transformed the platform into a more engaging and user-friendly experience for security professionals worldwide.
